Love going to Pontiac Lake campground. Needs some updates. Close to home.
We camped for 3 nights and loved it! Very nice campground with sites that are private to semi-private and some that are open. Lots of trails to walk,bike and horse ride. Definitely coming back.
Great place to shoot. The range is ran by knowledgeable and friendly gentlemen with the utmost regard for safety. Sight in your rifle, bust some hand thrown clays or pop off a few rounds from your handgun for a very cool four dollars.
We camp here several times a season being as we live locally. Make a reservation, they tend to fill up very fast. Restrooms and showers have always been reasonably clean and there are many private to semi private sites to choose from, and some amazing views as well.
The Pontiac Lake State Recreation Area is a great Park in Waterford. There is a huge beach right on Pontiac Lake. A large parking lot accommodates the many cars that come to visit. There is also a boat launch area where you can launch your boat on to Pontiac Lake. I go to the park and walk my dog. It seems like hundreds of acres in size. There are trails to ride a mountain bike. This park is great for anyone who enjoys the outdoors. A state park pass is required for entry.
